If God’s thoughts are not our thoughts, and His ways are truly not our ways (Isa 55:8), then why do we somehow think He would respond and react the way we would? When a person does wrong, we immediately see punishment and retribution for the act rather than love and reconciliation. We see...

There is an internet meme going around that makes light of people who have been single for a long time or have a difficult time making friends. It can be hard to meet that special someone you want to spend your life with and equally difficult to find friends whom you can share your heart...

Many revelations of Truth have come throughout the history of the Church, but our desire as men is to stop, pitch a tent and show everyone what happened. When God reveals a new truth, what do we do? I have been a believer for most of my life and through a few different “movements”...

I own a business and I want to choose who I serve! I chose to be my own boss, because I love making decisions and seeing the fruits of my labours. I work 14-16 hours per day on an average day and wouldn’t have it no other way. I love my job and love serving people. In the past few weeks...
If God Answered Your Cry, Would You Be Ready?

I loved my job. It was 1995 and I was seeing the world… well, mainly Saskatchewan. I was a “Rod Man” on a survey crew taking measurements for an engineering firm. We would travel throughout the province taking readings from survey equipment for the planning of new roads and road construction. I worked outside all day, and with the travel, my days often extended from 12 to 14 hours. I was young and full of energy, and when others would come home from work, tired and ready to relax, I was the guy who wanted to get out and have some fun! I would begin calling my friends on my cutting-edge, analog cell phone, letting them know I was...

That’s it! I’m tired of all the ideas floating around. I don’t know what to believe anymore! Who’s right? Most Christian denominations think they have the corner on the god market. If I would believe like them, then I could guarantee my spot in heaven or better,...

I have always loved worship music. There’s just something about it that calms the soul, renews hope and increases the size of the heart. I used to sing in the worship team at church for over 11 years. I actually believed that every song that spoke about God, was amazing and...

We believe that God is merciful because we have been spared. We were once sinners, but the grace of God was big enough to save us. What a great God we serve! But the truth is, we only see God as merciful as we are. We have made Him into our image. We feel that we are righteous because of our...

In 2016, the Skyscraper, a 570ft roller coaster will open in Orlando! I am not a person that can take rides on roller coasters; not because I am afraid, but mainly because my body cannot handle the motion constantly changing. Years ago, I was convinced by a friend that I should go on a this...
Stop Rewarding Your Child for Good Behaviour

My son (3) came to me this morning and held out his hand with a few candies in it and a smile on his face from ear to ear. He exclaimed “Daddy, I got candy cause I was good.” Before I gave much thought to it, I immediately returned “You got candy because mom is good, not you.” Is rewarding for good behaviour a bad thing? We have all done it, myself included. But I believe there’s a better way. A reward is given when proper action is taken, but not necessarily expected. More importantly, a reward is dependant on the giver, not the receiver. If you receive a benefit for something good you have done, it is dependent on your efforts and...
